If Moffat would go, I'd prefer Matt Smith remain.

But I am more concerned by the recent changes made to attract the younger viewer. The changes to the theme song a few seasons back were awful enough but now with the TARDIS' remodel, I can't decide if I want to continue my membership in the Dr. Who fan club.

sigh

I have seen some online idle chat about how cool it would be to have Brian Cox replace him though.. I would definitely love to see that.

It took me awhile to warm up to him (I really liked Eccleston) but once I did I didn't want to let him go

Although - to be fair, I haven't been following Doctor Who this whole time - 2 years ago my daughter got ahold of all the newer seasons (2005 and on) and we watched them several times over in a few different 'marathons', so I had less time to absorb all of this. I was just getting used to Matt Smith, but I still never liked him as much as David Tennant. I hope I can warm up more quickly to the next Doctor.

I think there were 6 or 7 in the original series and there have been at least 3 in the current run.

BTW if you hook up a ROKU or AppleTV to your TV machine you can watch Swedish detective movies every night on MHZ.

William Hartnell
Patrick Troughton
Jon Pertwee
Tom Baker
Peter Davison
Colin Baker
Sylvester McCoy
Paul McGann
Christopher Eccleston
David Tennant
Matt Smith

Peter Cushing portrayed him in two movies, but they are not considered canon.

tailored for an American series (The Doctor described himself as "half-human"

McGann's later audio portrayal of The Doctor, with better scripts, was much better.

I think River Song is as close as we'll get. JMO.

I would, however like to see a ginger Doctor so I don't have to hear, "Still not ginger!" at this regeneration, lol.

They have officially said that the 13 regeneration limit is no longer operative, but IMO it's still a good point for a shake up. And as the 13th- let the doctor finally be a ginger...

(and by the 14th, I mean 14+, not just a one off thing...)

For instance, when David Tennant went (in typical neo-Who manic style) from elation to despair to revenge to compassion...in the space of about 3 minutes...it was believable. It's been very hard for Smith to pull it off. I'm not sure he...really had the acting chops to pull it off. I dunno. Could have been the writing. Writing has dipped uncomfortably close to mid-series X-Files where they're stacking plot details on plot details and attempting to sort of keep track of it all and make sense via reference in later episodes.

Getting a little wobbly. Sometimes, feels a little Scooby Doo.
