So instead of the government issuing duck hunting stamps (some of which have become quite valuable), it looks like the duck stamp will go the way of the stock certificate.

I actually read the bill, but it sounds like "inside baseball" to me!

7. It's actually called the Migratory Waterfowl Stamp

Because ducks and geese are in the process of flying south for the wninter when it's legal to hunt them, the government has always held that a hunter needs a federal license to partake in the sport of waterfowl hunting. This is sold at post offices, and is usually called the duck stamp.

The revenue goes strictly to conservation programs, and possession of a hunting license isn't required. And as has been mentioned above, significant works of art have been on them.

I haven't read this act, but if this is a one-time fee deal it will be nothing more or less than another way for the GOP to fuck America...hunters don't mind paying this.

12. I think everyone voted for it--Pinboy3Niner has a good explanation of what it is.

It's a way of getting your federal license electronically if the post office runs out of stamps. They mail you your stamp later.

10. Here's the quick explanation...

.... This bill would make permanent the sale of federal duck stamps online—commonly referred to as the "e-Duck Stamp program."

The e-Duck Stamp program began as a trial four years ago, allowing hunters 16 and older to purchase temporary duck stamps online until their physical stamps arrived in the mail. Prior to this pilot program, waterfowl hunters were required to buy duck stamps at post offices and sporting good stores, not all of which were readily or adequately supplied with the necessary stamps.
