Help wanted: No ugly applicants, please

If you want only beautiful people working for you, now there's a website that will help you weed out any unattractive riffraff.

BeautifulPeople.com, the online dating site that only permits attractive people to sign up, now has an offshoot site for employers. Only 20 per cent make it through the 48-hour vetting process by members of the opposite sex to become BeautifulPeople.com members. The rest of us? Well, we are the 80 per cent.

BeautifulPeople.com tells Mashable that its new service is aimed at employers who want to hire "good-looking staff." The service will offer individuals and companies access to its 75,000 attractive members.

"An honest employer will tell you that it pays to hire good-looking staff," said Greg Hodge, managing director of BeautifulPeople.com, in a statement. "Attractive people tend to make a better first impression on clients, win more business and earn more."

Obviously I'm not one of the "beautiful" people. I've never and will never model for any kind of magazine, etc. unless it's AARP in the future. Therefore I'm sure I just bitter and jealous

I guess if you're so self-absorbed you sign up for that site then you deserve the other vapid, self-absorbed jerk with whom you pair.

I'm surprised that the men here don't share my adoration for Caprica Six/ Tricia Helfer.

The picture I posted is of a cylon. I'm basically obsessed with Battlestar Galactica, and I have a huge girl crush on Caprica Six, perhaps because she is entirely opposite from me physically.

be seen as gender and race discrimination? Airlines are no longer allowed to have flight attendants weigh under a certain amount. Obviously employers hire people based partly on appearance, but I would think this kind of blatant pre-screening invites legal trouble.

There used to be a code like "front office appearance" that was used by employers to signify "white" to employment agencies.

If the attractive shell of a person was all that was good about them, then Jeffery Dahmer, Richard Rameriz, and Ted Bundy were all good people. Those tall dashing blond young men in their black Schutzstaffel uniforms made good impressions on everyone.
