More Proof the IRS Did Not Target Tea Party Groups

On their website The Atlantic has an article discussing the groups that were given extra attention by the IRS when they applied for 501 c(4) status. According to the article, the IRS is prohibited from listing the names of groups that have not been given a decision on the tax-exempt status, but of the organizations that where asked to give more and were later given a decision on their status one-third of those groups were left leaning or neutral. The article goes on to give examples of the names and purposes of the non-Tea Party groups that received extra attention. At the end it listed 48 non-Tea Party groups that received extra attention from the IRS.
