Ed Markey is handing Nitwit Gomez his ASS on WBZ TV CH 4, Boston.
It is a sight to behold. You know how Lautenberg talked about "spineless" Dems? Ed Markey ain't one of 'em.
He's taking Gomez to the woodshed and it is a JOY to behold.
I put this debate in the WIN column for Markey--decisively. Gomez looks like a soundbite moron.
If you are able to find a recording of this on the net, or if they rerun it on CSPAN (it's half over) -- watch. It will lift your spirits.

You know, I initially wondered why Gomez failed of selection for promotion to LCDR (and after watching this debate, I'm confident that's what happened to the little shit--he didn't go out under his own steam, he didn't jump, he was pushed). I don't wonder anymore. He's simplistic, stupid, a blamer, and he has the leadership skills of a moldy fig!!!! Who would want that little whiner as their Division Officer or Department Head? No wonder he couldn't find a community in the USN where he 'fit,' either--he just didn't have "The Right Stuff."
Of course, the brave SEAL who defended ST KITTS against the enemy was competing for promotion against those guys who actually earned their stripes in DESERT SHIELD/STORM....so there's that, too. It's not surprising that he'd need to go another way. The ones who bellow the loudest are sometimes--not always, but sometimes--the ones who had the cushiest 'Stay Home or See The Carribean' tours, like our brave hero Gabriel "I'm not going to DC to change any laws" Gomez!

Secondly, Gomez is more vulnerable that his biography lets on. While he’s pro-marriage equality, he’s anti-choice in a state that is certainly not. And Democrats plan to use his private equity career against him, already dubbing him “Mitt Romney Jr.” He has no political experience and isn’t necessarily a natural. The conservative Boston Herald wrote that Gomez looks “amateurish on the stump, especially in the debates, and his one-note ‘I’m not a politician, I’m a Navy SEAL’ campaign theme already seems worn out. He is definitely not reminding anyone of Scott Brown.” He’s also backtracked on liberal positions on immigration and gun control after writing a letter to Gov. Deval Patrick asking to be appointed to the Senate seat and promising that he’d support Obama in both areas.

I just gave some BUCKS to Markey! He says the pundits are calling it a "toss up" but that what they do. Like cnn "too close to call". But, it's still good to act like it and GOTV!

He got out in the mid nineties, while there was a drawdown happening. That drawdown was very sensitive to minority attrition, and care was taken to avoid unfairly targeting minorities and women in warfare specialities-- so he would have gotten a nudge forward as a consequence of checking the Hispanic block. The fact that he still couldn't cut it makes me think he was a real fuckup.
