However, instead of engaging in widespread surveillance programs against Americans, why don't we stop attacking country after country in the Middle East? Why don't we stop interfering in the region? Why don't we stop defending Israeli actions against the Palestinians?
Then perhaps these large-scale Orwellian surveillance programs won't be necessary. Then perhaps the threat will no longer be there. Blowback is real, just ask the CIA.
There's a reason the terrorists didn't strike Honduras on 9/11.
