(60,013 posts)and also makes me realize I am not alone.....And I wonder how one can separate what happens as you grow older, gain experience, learn about things - speaking for myself, I do become more skeptical (which then evolves into cynicism). As a natural optimist, this is a very trying time - challenging to stay positive, that's for sure).
What ends up happening is that I just start becoming disconnected from it - political apathy, I guess - which is the opposite of what I know I should be doing (goodness knows, there is plenty to do locally with the mess that NC has become)...but we each have finite lives, and need to do things that bring us joy and peace as well....

(25,224 posts)Can't grow indeterminates (beefsteak etc) and many heirloom types in South Texas. We have two growing - 90 day - seasons. Tomatoes generally don't survive our summers.
