Mind-blowing, since almost all of my uncles... and my Dad... were there. And now they're gone. And, I'm not even 50 yet!
A trip in a Higgins boat across a body of water known for its fury must've been terrifying - only to reach the other side and have bullets flying all around you.

And to ride a horsa glider would just scare the crap out of me.

I can not imagine the sheer terror they had to fight back to even get on the boats.

Both were in the Canadian Army and both survived the war.
