General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI was chastised by an organizer at a Bradley Manning rally today for displaying a Corporate-States
of America flag, you know, the red and white stripes with corporate logos where the stars should be.
I didn't find the circumstances conducive to having anything like an honest discussion of our comparative understandings of our differences, so I let it go and moved away from "the organizer" and continued to hold the flag near a sign that said "Let's arrest the real criminals" anyway.
However, I am interested in other perceptions of why there was a problem. Can you help?

(20,600 posts)the only thing is maybe the person thought it was drawing attention away from Manning and wanted the focus on that. That is a guess though.

(1,042 posts)You were off message. A distraction. You muddied the waters. Simple as that.

(3,220 posts)The protest was about Manning, and they probably thought the flag had nothing to do with the protest, clouding the protest's message and image.
