Now we know who you have to f--- to get a Snowden job.

US

His leaks, right or wrong, shows us how ronnie reagan's utopian government contractor government is working.

It sure seems that he was making a lot of money for a government job. $200k per year? So what was the contractor making off of him? You know, the guy who apparently only had a few community college courses involving computers. Nowadays, most community colleges have cut back on computer courses because following the dot-com crash, computer programmers became a dime-a-dozen.

So, do the contractors have some sort of "casting couch?" WTF is going on with our truly pitiful government, the government that was first sabotaged by the Republicans and then allowed to languish under the incompetent idiot Democrats. End the security state, it's a waste of money and it's making things worse.

they would have to be prior military or civilian employees. It takes months to get cleared for any clearance, much less the level needed for NSA access. The government pays the primary contractor, BAH in this case, to provide the folks that meet their standards, so they (BAH) are the ones vouching for the individuals beyond the minimal requirements. Someone with a clearance history and the right resume can be given the keys to the kingdom if they get inside one of the chosen contracting companies.

So I'd be careful about believing everything he says.

It would have been possible for him to do this if he had a personal email.

the government. I thought that to being with. Remember the movie "Falcon and the Snowman"? (based on a true story). I think it was like that, Dad helped him out.

Good lord. Read between the lines. The guy is a HACKER. Most hackers learn their craft in middle and high school, self taught with each other's support. Going to community college to take a few courses was just testing the water to figure out if it was worth getting an AA or a BS for the sake of finding a job.

You want to know how he got a job? Go to DefCon or other hacker con sometime, and see the feds recruiting there. That's just the most obvious and most public way it happens. There are thousands of ins for a guy with the chops.

He's not a hacker.

He was the IT guy. You know, the guy who comes and fixes your computer when it won't print? That was Snowden's job.

The "access" he claims was based on having administrator access to the machines where such tasks were done. So he could fix the printer.

This guy is as much of a "hacker" as the people running the computers in an insurance company.
