I recall stumbling upon the John Hurt version on cable when I was around 13 years old, about 27 years ago. It made a deep impression on me and I eventually purchased and read the book. I kept this paperback at the top of my closet. I felt even then that I was reading something that if certain powers could have their way I wouldn't be able to.

7. ah, all this talk about 1984 was publicity to sell the book on its 60th.

But I wonder, all the people who purchased it on amazon, how did they pay for it?

with amazon, one doesn't even have to put ones credit card in. Matter of fact, THEY ALREADY KNOW IT and they know who
