Check out this lefty, hair-on-fire rant. The author has a pre-9/11 mindset & wants terrorists to win

AMENDMENT IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

or something?
I think the constitution has to be looked at in terms of today, not the old musket carrying days when things like that were written.
After all, without any rights we will feel much safer. There could be a terrorist right in your house, and you might not even know it.
You know too, that with a Democrat in the White House, you can feel totally safe giving up all your civil rights or constitutional rights or whatever it is that these nuts think everyone should be able to do or have.
Because we all know nothing bad could ever happen under a Democrat, that would only happen if Romney were elected.
And he wasn't. And I'm sure glad of that.

There isn't even an explicit right to privacy enumerated in the Bill of Rights. It has been "read into" a combination of the other Ammendments, but that is probably not something that Scalia and Thomas are happy with.

Bear in mind that modern constitutions tend to be at least ten times longer than the US constitution.

Even despotic states sometimes have very nice, high-minded sounding constitutions.

I think those who purchase Facebook Consti-points should obviously get more say in voting for each line, but those details can all be worked out.

But if someone checked out DU for the first time, I don't know if they would be able to keep up. I swear, in some sections of this thread, it sounds like an insane asylum. That's an institution that they used to take deranged persons to, in order that they were cared for and protected from the elements and from violent criminals on the streets. Just kidding That was a riot!

"...shall not be violated"... O, My Goodness me! SHALL NOT. We're sounding pretty sure of ourselves, aren't we MoonBat? - or is it Queen MoonBat? Yes, I think it must be. I love this bit, too, where it goes on to list a bunch of completely uber-Moonbat conditions -I mean, celestial fucking hoops of flaming blue Moonbat purity- that the police will have to leap through every time they want to kick in a door, toss some shitbag's place and bust him... here we go:

" ...particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Ok Moonbat, your Highness, I got your particular fucking description right here: 1) America, 2) Everybody, and 3) Anything. OK? THat clear enough for you, Princess???
