Pat Boone and Hank Williams Jr regularly slander Obama.

Is this their way of cutting down someone who would give more to the poor?

I think the hope is that the light will shine on them for just one more second if they do\say something outrageous enough. It's a pathology that goes along with fame.

Right wingers want to have some popular entertainers who share their views and, unfortunately for them, they are few and far between. I know a conservative/RW couple who went to the Madonna concert in DC when she went on a pro-Obama rant. Ruined it for them. What did they expect, a Romney rally? It must really piss off these angry old conservative guys that your beautiful and talented actresses like Julia Roberts and Eva Longoria are way left of center and vocal Obama supporters.

Jane Fonda has more brains and talent in one of her toenails than all of those you listed put together.

Now the government that was good enough when they were kids to supply 'em with schools, roads, etc. is the bad guy. It's a retreat from the community.

And since they were not always has beens, but were once is nows, they can draw a check from conservative groups.

Fossilization of their brains from age may be part of it, too. Or their quirks may have taken a while to develop into full grown assholery.

IOW, I got nothin'.
