If that is the case, then must not all the infrastructure created for the war effort, including the spy network, also come to an end?
If we withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, then we are marking a major point in the "war on terror". Osama bin Laden has been killed and it is difficult to find a terrorist to kill anymore. Are we not admitting that most of the terrorist networks have been defeated?
Yes, there may be some nut with a shoe bomb or a couple of crazy Russians with a pressure cooker but that is not a war. Those are incidents.
We should dismantle the war machine, including the spy machine, that was created to fight this questionable war. The people have been played for fools. And some want to keep the gravy train rolling.

(111,052 posts)Maybe he is not real crazy about keeping the TIA program going? But he has to keep up a certain facade for political and personal reasons. We may not know what he truly thinks about this case?

in other words, it's big money and will never ever go away.
