Jay Carney will defend, or make excuses for Clapper.
Just look at the despicable thieves, liars and cons that President Obama has appointed and surrounded himself with.
GE, Monsanto, and Wall Street are pleased with the representation they are getting from within the White House.
How many Bush holdovers did he keep ?
How many Republicans has he appointed ?
Sad, very sad indeed.

(13,257 posts)as much as he dislikes firing people, should of course fire someone for lying to Congress Not likely in the world we're in now. The entrenched are more firmly entrenched than at any time in my very long life.

(10,575 posts)If President Obama really does welcome a debate about the scope of the U.S. surveillance program, a good first step would be to fire Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
Back at an open congressional hearing on March 12, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) asked Clapper, Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans? Clapper replied, No sir not wittingly. As we all now know, he was lying.
