America has been captured by the "war on terror" propaganda.

We have grown to like the security offered by our captors. We are victims of the Stockholm Syndrome.

We do not really think that terror is the deadly enemy that our captors say it is. But we have grown accustomed to the propaganda over the last 12 years. We know in our hearts that it wasn't necessary when it was created and it isn't necessary now. But still, we accept whatever our captors say is necessary for our continued safety. It is a mental condition.

We do not complain when the government says we need to give up our privacy rights in order to be protected from the "terrorists". We know that is a lie. But we do not fight. We surrender.

What was once unthinkable has become the norm. America is a sick puppy.

and have wrought unimaginable damage to our national psyche, our national character, our economy, our standard of living, and our standing in the world. Moreover, all wrong-headed policies initiated by junior and continued by BHO are equally wrong-headed imo. In the meantime, income inequality and an unfair and a ruinous tax code continue, our nation continues its slide in all quality-of-life measurements, and corporate welfare and welfare for the uber-wealthy proliferate.

Even as they cut food stamps and education, and increase spending on the NSA and Homeland Security to almost $160 billion per year. But it doesn't affect them??

We've fought and lost 2 unnecessary wars.

Involved ourselves in other civil wars.

Damn gone bankrupt fighting those wars.

And, removed some the liberties he sought to destroy with bombs.

I'm getting so sick of this learned helplessness, woe-is-me crap that gets peddled around here. It starts at the voter booth during primaries. Sad to say that the left does not take a lesson from the teabaggers. We absolutely refuse to have a united agenda and nitpick the hell out of everything insisting on purity and one issue voting or we freaking stay home at election time. There is no need to insist on purity, only a need to hit on solutions that work for our communities, which also include conservatives. They are not suddenly going to move offworld so that liberals can run it. We absolutely need to find a way to live together in this land while respecting one another and providing for the safety and security of all. There are a lot of folks out here who sit silently rather than be shouted down by either side. Like it or not, our communities need to function, as do our states and the federal government. If we cannot find a way to do this then we deserve to fall apart at the seams but to just sit around and moan and wish for a magic lamp to rub is putridly immature.

It is the stinking, putrid, "war on terror" propagandists. Many have bought into it over the years and now accept it without question. They have a better chance of hitting powerball than being hit by terrorists in another 9/11 incident. But they continue to buy the bullshit.
