"then they came for the jews"

(I keep thinking about this, as I listen to discussions about the nsa/etc)

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

Gitmo, of course, is entirely different. At Camp Delta, e.g., they even help with transportation. AnotherMcIntosh Jun 2013 #2

So pulling this poem may be a little premature.
