KFC's (in)famous Double Down has spawned all sorts of no-bun monstrosities. This one is making our stomachs turn.
Jack In the Box recently unveiled the "Big Waffle Stack," in which two "lightly sweetened, toasted maple waffles" take the place of the bun, according to a press release. Between the waffles are two eggs, sausage, ham, American cheese and bacon.

(32,075 posts)I think I gained a few pounds myself, just by osmosis. All that grease, salt, and sugar....
Bleech.

(1,110 posts)I thought the concept of McGriddles was disgusting when they first came out, but I had one and I thought it was rather tasty (I only had them a couple times though)
I suspect this thing from Jack In the Box is probably fairly tasty if you're a fan of bacon/sausage and egg type breakfasts. Totally a great way to pack on some insulation for the winter months too.
I'll end up trying this one time (I also tried the Double Down one time)

(14,400 posts)Making stomachs turn is a just a little dramatic even for Huffington.
Two little waffles (smaller than EGGO's) as the bun, one sausage patty, one egg, one slice of bacon (halved) and two slices of cheese.
I see a lot of breakfast plates with more than this on it all the time. Has Arianna never been to an IHOP or Dennys?

(1,277 posts)I wouldn't eat the breakfast sandwich but some of the reactions here and on HuffPo are a little overwrought.

I wouldn't eat that as a "sandwich," but if you unpack its component parts you see the same thing on the plate at breakfast joints across the country every single morning. Except maybe for the American cheese.

Nothing wrong with a healthy breakfast, especially if you're gonna workout, you'll need the carbs and protein, but that....nuh uh.

(39,961 posts)I actually ate a Double Down (didn't like the bacon) but I wouldn't dare touch a thing made of eggs, waffles, sausage and cheese. It's downright unsanitary
Oh, it has bacon, too. Well let's just pile on the cholesterol. Can I get a few margarine pats with that to spread around to ensure I get heart disease?

(4,238 posts)Yes, I know it is completely unhealthy, doesn't contain anything found in nature, has a gazillion calories and should be completely disgusting. But swerra god, if I was thinner with a faster metabolism, I'd shove that thing in my mouth faster than Chris Christie at a buffet table.
