A friend of the family, who I really enjoy and who is a nice woman, used to rail against Obama, and even for a time considered voting for Romney, yet receives Food Stamps, Social Security Disability, Medicaid, and lives in subsidized housing, but she berates others on "welfare". In the end, she stayed home on election day.

People have been debating the notion of "involuntary servitude" including the classic 9 to 5 since before FDR. By rights, as a citizen you should have the right to basic needs even if you aren't working for someone else.
