4:00 a.m. Crews continue to fight hotspots and other fires within the burn area. Weather has been much calmer than in the past days. The next briefing is planned for 9 a.m.
2:40 a.m. Fresh crews are taking up positions and fighting spot fires.
2:15 a.m. Friday winds for the Black Forest fire area will come from the west and southwest and pick up by the afternoon to fall between 10-15 mph, with a couple gusts near 20 mph, much less than the gusts reaching past 30 mph Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
Overnight Thursday, the area remained in the 70s. Black Forest is expected to see a high around 90 degrees Friday
