Rachel finds out a very nasty fact about the passage of Wisconsin's abortion bill:

@ChrisTaylorWI: @maddow Was stunned they defeated my amendment. Also defeated an amendment saying women can't be physically forced to have an ultrasound.

<snip>
This was no ordinary debate in the Wisconsin Legislature.
Rep. Mandy Wright (D-Wausau) shared publicly for the first time that she had been raped when she was 8. Rep. Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) talked openly for the first time about the anguish she felt when told 17 years ago that one of the twins she was carrying had died in utero and that she had to make a choice to "save the life" of her other son.
<snip>
During a contentious floor session Wednesday, the Senate also passed the ultrasound bill after Republican leaders cut off debate. Gov. Scott Walker has said he will sign the bill into law. The other two abortion bills now head to the Senate, where leaders say they might not get to them until this fall, after the summer recess.
<snip>
But supporters said their motives were pure.
"This isn't about politics," said Rep. Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan). "It's about life."

<snip>
One of the amendments offered by Democrats that failed to pass would have specified that only an abdominal ultrasound could be required and not the more invasive vaginal probe.
<snip>
"These are not choices we like," she said. But they are ones that should not be dictated by politicians, she added. "I'm just appalled that you feel your morals [get] to play out in my life," said Pope in remarks meant for bill supporters. "Some decisions don't belong to you."

If they ever tried to use force to make me get an ultrasound, it would be ON!

They will find a place to have their abortions, and will travel to those places. Poor women will go back to the dirty motels & possibly die...or they will have another baby they cannot afford.

The sad fact is this.. Until there is a progressive governor AND a dem-controlled legislature again, this is the way it will stay.

Funny how when birth control came into the marketplace, those pesky female troubles disappeared

Like the North Carolina NAACP organized that now many ministers, doctors, mothers, compassionate & rational NC folks are going to & getting arrested at...maybe NARAL and/or Planned Parenthood could start another public protest.
This just makes me sick.
