I lived just outside the evacuation area by a couple of miles about 17 years ago, so was watching intently knowing the roads and area very well. It was pretty built up when I was there but much, much more so now. An area where there are some not well to do places, but many that are fairly upscale.
One of those areas that is "country style" where most have a couple of acres and a couple of horses and yes some gated communities too. Beautiful area with most of it very dense pine forest that burns very hot and very fast and spreads from tree to tree with just a spark. It will be a terrible sight for many, many years. Very sad.........

in 1943, small rustic lodge. It's changed much in 70 years, but Mom is saddened just the same.
