Shareholder Derivative Action Against News Corp. Over Antitrust Violations

"hacking competitors' phones"

By LORRAINE BAILEY

(CN) - Rupert and James Murdoch exposed News Corp. to billions of dollars in liability for violating antitrust laws in their efforts to crush competition in the in-store promotion and insert coupon market, shareholders say in a derivative suit.
Iron Workers Mid-South Pension Fund filed a derivative action against Rupert Murdoch, James Murdoch, and 16 other corporate officers of News Corporation in federal court.
"News America acquired dominance in this market through various wrongful acts designed to inhibit competition,

including: (i) entering into long-term exclusive contracts with retailers; (ii) paying large economically unjustifiable cash payments to retailers to derail competitor contracts; (iii) bundling and predatorily pricing its in-store advertising and promotion products and services with its FSIs; (iv) hacking into competitors' computer files to steal customer lists and marketing materials; (v) dishonestly disparaging competitors' compliance rates and financial viability; and (vi) even defacing competitors' advertisements," the Fund continues.

Two of News Corp.'s customers, the Dial Corporation and H.J. Heinz Company, sued News America for violating antitrust laws, using "Al Capone's tactics," and hacking competitors' phones to dominate the in-store promotion market...........

over the propaganda machine that is News Corps. I wish those pursuing this suit well. I do think that sometime in the future there will be shakeups instead of just shakedowns. Til then - will keep reading the ripple stories.

This court case looks like hacking in the usa is a common tactic with this group.

No one has ever took a look at the computers, phone records during the election when it was said, Bush won by state cheating. His main 'go to man for hacks' lived in Florida for a decade at that same time.

per the splitting the company up. I will have to go look that up.

Not a surprise that the US media has stopped following up on the indications that hacking per News Corp. has occurred here. On the radar for a month or two more than a year ago. Then... blip. Off the radar.
