Snowden set back young IT people.

Another disastrous Snowden tragedy is his affect on the careers of young people in Information Technology. It's going to be harder for them to get higher responsibility/confidentiality jobs. A whole lot of IT jobs are high-confidentiality jobs, and Snowden is going to be a major cautionary tale for human resources folks. They will probably start looking for longer track records and kicking tires harder to weed out flakes like Snowden.

Snowden's no hero folks. Breathe deeply. Think about it.

AND that wasn't picked up in the vetting process for that position, isn't it a GOOD thing that maybe now Big Info Government Contractors will be looking closely?

My fear is that this will unfairly slow the progress of a lot of highly talented, level-headed young people. Hiring is a crude science.

Not to worry, I'll fire all the younger IT people at work tomorrow morning, just in case Snowden inspired them to, you know, leak secrets or something.

I bet anyone who doesn't want whistleblowers will think twice about hiring young people too.

They need people loyal to the firm who will do things no questions asked because they have a family and obligations.

Any corporation who wants to skirt the law needs these loyal employees also.

He drinks the last beer. He's mean to his mother. He bakes puppies at 450 with a lovely cream sauce.

Who gives a fuck. His part in this is over except for punishing him for embarrassing the government. Or for being a Chinese Spy. And if he is a Chinese Spy are you going to defend the Administrations decision to hire a private firm who's security is so lax they allowed a Chinese Spy access to sensitive material? I bet you are!
