Reader Supported News
In an era of managed news outlets, propaganda and censorship, the only independent news sources are small shoestring outfits on the Internet.
For my money (literally), one of the better ones is Reader Supported News. Some of their stuff is original, and they re-publish a lot of stuff that I would otherwise miss. They regularly run Robert Reich, Matt Taibbi, Greenwald, etc.

Personally, I have for some time been signed up to make a small monthly contribution automatically via PayPal. I consider it something like my subscription to a daily paper.
