Rights are privileges of convenience

Last edited Mon Jun 17, 2013, 12:47 PM - Edit history (1)

The same people who said that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with unalienable rights, had slaves back at home. Also to, notice how they said "all men" instead of all people. The rights were given when it was popular to gain support for the new government, and they've been taken away as it becomes useful for the government.

Rights are privileges of convenience. You have a right for something up until the moment the government that gave it to you, wants to take it away.

This is not an excuse for the government to take certain ones away or to weaken others just a little bit more.

There are no Divine Rights. God does not work with politicians, but they may claim divinity to sway the weak to a way of thinking.

the rights granted and their interpretation are a matter of consensus at the time they are given. Otherwise, ditch the myth.

6. By definition, a right is intrinsic, not dependent on a government giving it to me.

Our Constitution provided for certain inalienable rights.
Any attempts to remove those rights is unconstitutional.
No matter what any government says now or in the future.

Priveleges are something a government can decide on giving or taking away, but not rights.
