Florida man beaten, robbed, stripped naked on first date

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/17/19008092-florida-man-beaten-robbed-stripped-naked-on-first-date?lite

A Florida man was beaten, robbed, forced to strip naked and abandoned on the side of a road Friday evening during a first date gone horribly wrong, according to police.

Authorities found nude, bloodied Shaun Paul Williams, 34, walking on the shoulder of State Road 100 in Bunnell, Fla., late Friday near a cow pasture where Williams said he was assaulted and mugged by his date and her two unidentified male companions earlier that evening, according to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office case report.

Williams told sheriff’s deputies that he met the unidentified woman at a convenience store in Daytona Beach, Fla., two weeks ago. They struck up a friendship and later arranged to go out on June 14, according to the report.

The woman picked up Williams in front of the same convenience store for their first date Friday evening. After Williams entered the woman’s vehicle, he discovered two unidentified adult men – one of whom the woman introduced as her brother, the report states.

One of the unidentified men allegedly responded, “Do you see what I’ve got pointed at you?”

Williams said he then opened his eyes and saw a semi-automatic pistol pointed straight at his face, according to the report.

I know Daytona Beach. It's not a big city but yes, you still have to be careful. I wonder if that was the plan from the very beginning. Sad.

I believe that was her plan from the beginning. Probably took time to find the car and guys with guns.

It seemed so peaceful when I was there cause I never made it to Bike Week. [img][/img]

but this one put them all into perspective.

I'm glad he's OK, that he wasn't too ashamed to talk about it, and I hope this bunch is caught soon and taken off the street.

Usually the female (bait) is at a bar so the convenience store tactic is a new one.

The young woman and her accomplices used the same tactic. She ingratiates herself -- they meet at a neutral location. Next time she suggests they go back to her apartment. Poor bastard never knew what hit him.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

The dating scene can be a dangerous one whether you're male or female. SO many predators out there and it's impossible to tell who's who without a script. Back in the Dark Ages when I was a teenager my mother was always bitching about the appearance of guys I went out with -- long hair, most rode motorcycles -- nothing to me but it freaked her out. Anyway, some preacher's kid from school had been asking me out and, just to try something new, I finally said I'd go. WORST. DATE. EVER. The horny little shit grew hands and was all over me and would not take "get the fuck OFF of me!" for an answer. I ended up WALKING home and it was a LONG walk. I went back to dating bikers. They were a better class of people.

Put out or walk home. They were five miles out in the country on a dirt road. She put up with the rape because of snakes, javelinas, and god-knows-who-else could have been out there.

She was about 18, and didn't go to the police to at least let them know there was a rapist. She was afraid she wouldn't be believed because she hadn't been beaten up.

There are some ugly people out there who get away with a lot.

If this had happened to a woman I'm sure we'd have seen those type of comments by now.

I saw this thread earlier and wondered if we might see the same type of thing here. Just checked back and no, of course not.

I just wanted to point it out because I think it is important to recognize the different way women are treated. I hope he isn't hearing that kind of stuff from anyone.
