This is going well: Afghanistan suspends talks with U.S.

Let's see, the U.S. agrees to peace talks with the Taliban and even drops the precondition that the Taliban drop ties to Al-Qaeda. The Taliban than kills 4 U.S. troops and Karzai says he won't engage at all.

Mr Karzai is angry the US did not elicit a pledge from the Taliban to talk to his government, analysts say.

Earlier, four US soldiers died in a Taliban attack at an Afghan air base.

A spokesman for the Taliban said the militants had launched two rockets at Bagram airbase, the largest military base for US troops in Afghanistan
