Brazil Protests Erupt over World Cup Stadiums Costs...Causing Poverty of People!

Brazil protests erupt over public services and World Cup costs

Some of country's biggest ever rallies sweep major cities as bus fare rise is last straw in spiral of high costs and poor services

Brazil experienced one of its biggest nights of protest in decades on Monday as more than 100,000 people took to the streets nationwide to express their frustration at heavyhanded policing, poor public services and high costs for the World Cup.

The major demonstrations in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasilia, Belem, Belo Horizonte, Salvador and elsewhere started peacefully but several led to clashes with police and arson attacks on cars and buses.

The large turnout and geographic spread marked a rapid escalation after smaller protests last week against bus price increases led to complaints that police responded disproportionately with rubber bullets, tear gas and violent beatings.

Coinciding with the start of the Confederations Cup – a World Cup test event – the rallies brought together a wide coalition of people frustrated with the escalating costs and persistently poor quality of public services, lavish investment on international sporting events, low standards of healthcare and wider unease about inequality and corruption.

In Rio images and video posted online showed vast crowds.

China was eager to paint herself pretty for the Olympics, but then everyone saw how bad her makeup was. Show that you are not eager to "earn" respect of the world, because respect is never earned, but TAKEN!

This World Wide Globilization...where we here raped our people building these Sport Stadiums with Taxpayers money...promising Revitilization to the Poor Communities if you just put Sadium/Sports Complex in Downtown Blighted Areas...and it would Revive Communities. It hasn't worked out so well here in the USA except in some of the Big Cities that Rule...and can get folks there. Many of the smaller communities were left with huge debt when the Big Guys cut out after the Crash and the Model didn't work out because the Middle Class and Poor couldn't afford the Ticket Prices and even the Big Box Holders weren't interested enough... So it came back on the taxpayers who were left "holding the Bag" for the DEBT...and Empty Promises.

I could so links to these failures...all over America. It's even being Touted for Bankrupt Detroit...to build a Stadium....as if the school closings and bankruptcy and decline of any kind of Middle Class have MONEY to deal with a Huge Sports Stadium for their long time employment!

Anyway...those DU'ers who know will understand how horrible this is that it's the NEW GLOBAL PLAN pushed on other countries when it's failed here in the USA! It's always up to the Taxpayers to get STUCK when it doesn't pan out ...but, by then the Developers an their Cronies have already bailed out with their "Investments" intact having been shifted off to taxpayer who was the loser after being "promised so much."

People's basic needs are not being met so corporations can make billions! The people are no longer buying the jingoism around sporting events. Let us common people sacrifice so some dingbat with a ball gets 15 minutes of fame, and the shysters behind this fraud rake in billions. Better to never have another sports victory again.

tickets to see games played with their fave stars in these stadiums.

All over USA and now the World. It's like the "Democracy" we are passing on is just Wall Street/Big Global interests passing on Models that don't work to Emerging Countries and they end up with Bubbles and Busts while the ordinary folks get ruined.

It's so similar that model. It comes out of our Best Business Schools and this is after the 2008 CRASH which wiped out the Euro Countries and USA's Middle Class?

Pushing their crap over and over because they KNOW...that "THEY" will get bailed out and the "people" Suffer Once Again!

Hawking these "Sports Stadiums" to unwary Taxpayers and Pension Funds (the ones that survived the Crash of 2008!)
