*because lying is what they do. yeah, the FBI

The FBI has a long detailed and documented history of spying and lying. It does it under republican presidents. It does it under democratic presidents. It's nothing new. They've been doing it for decades. They are particularly prone to lying about situations that put them in a poor, ethically debatable or legally questionable or worse, light.

Michael Hastings had a history as a truth teller, someone who was meticulous about facts.

And that's why, I believe Michael Hastings over some spokesperson for the FBI. Yes, he could have been wrong, but I only have the word of the FBI and the word of Hastings to go by. I choose Hastings for the reasons I've laid out.

*for the reading comprehension challenged: No, I'm not saying they lie about everything. I'm saying they have a long history of spying on people and lying about it.

Want to add this too: Nope not saying that the FBI or the government killed Hastings. Not implying it either. Got that? Good.

RIP to the award-winning journalist Michael Hastings. I read the he was investigated by FBI few hours before the car crash, and it seems crash may have been suspicious, casting doubt on whether a Mercedez-Benz would catch fire so quickly after a crash???? and LA cops got suspicious circumstances ... something fishy in this accident. Hope some one breaks the silence ...

from Wikipedia:

Director Mueller, along with Acting Attorney General James B. Comey, offered to resign from office in March 2004 if the White House overruled a Department of Justice finding that domestic wiretapping without a court warrant was unconstitutional.[11] Attorney General John D. Ashcroft denied his consent to attempts by White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and White House Counsel Alberto R. Gonzales to waive the Justice Department ruling and permit the domestic warrantless eavesdropping program to proceed. On March 12, 2004, President George W. Bush gave his support to changes in the program sufficient to satisfy the concerns of Mueller, Ashcroft and Comey.[11] The extent of the National Security Agency's domestic warrantless eavesdropping under the President's Surveillance Program is still largely unknown.

If you don't like domestic spying by the govt, without Mueller being there it would have been 1000x worse.

the comparison of the FBI to posters on the internet is hilarious. clearly unintentionally hilarious, but that makes it even better.

what did the FBI right with the Boston bombing suspects?

Michael German, a former FBI agent and ACLU's counsel on national security, immigration and privacy, said: "What became concerning is that different stories... were coming out. They need to correct the record—both for the protection of the people in the community and for the protection of the law enforcement officers."
