Why is Khalid Sheikh Mohammed still alive after a decade in US custody?

If the government actually does off journalists and sitting Senators through convenient vehicle disasters, why is this jackass still living at taxpayer expense?

and prosecutorial overreach by the feds. And the FBI sure as shit has a despicable well documented history of malfeasance.

And it might also be that he knows nothing that would embarrass the Administration and so he poses no threat as he wastes away in his cell.
