PG&E: Fine for San Bruno blast may force rate increase

Rates for PG&E customers may hinge on how much the utility gets fined for the deadly San Bruno pipeline blast in 2010.

The utility agency's top executive says your rates will stay about the same if PG&E can apply money it's spent on upgrading gas pipelines toward any penalties.

Regulators are considering fining PG&E $2.25 billion.
