A bill to end the Republicans' dreams of a Mexican wall

1. Any construction of a wall, fence, ditch, moat, ravine or other fortification of any kind intended to be constructed between the United States and any sovereign nation will be funded entirely by tax increases.

2. The sponsor of any legislation to construct any border fortification listed in the preceding paragraph will include a list of the tax increases in the legislation.

2a. Any tax increase package proposed must include an increase in the Inheritance Tax of at least 10 percent and must convert all individual taxpayers with gross income over one million dollars to a flat tax with no deductions at the highest marginal rate on all income earned or unearned from anywhere in the world.

3. Any cost overruns incurred in constructing the fortification will be funded with tax increases, which will be enacted prior to the commencement of the additional work.

4. At the conclusion of the border fortification project, all revenues produced by the tax increases described in paragraphs 2 and 3 shall be diverted to the reconstruction and/or replacement of bridges in the United States, and to the construction of a minimum four-lane bridge or tunnel between Ketchikan, Alaska, and Gravina Island, so as to fulfil the original agreement made between the government and the people of Alaska when Ketchikan's airport was constructed.

The chamber of commerce wing of the republican party will never allow this anyway as their eye is always on the prize: Cheap labor.

The DDR government told its citizens they were building the Berlin Wall and the inter-German Border because the West Germans were coming into the DDR, buying up all their consumer goods and taking all their jobs. The consumer goods charge was true; thanks to price controls food and housewares were cheaper, and the shopkeepers were more than happy to accept West Marks at par.(In a communist country, having access to hard currency is doubleplusgood.)

Fast forward to the 21st Century where we learn that we need a wall because Mexicans are taking all our jobs. After that we'll learn we need a wall along the Canadian border to keep those maple syrup sucking Canadians, whose only export is Terrance and Philip, from crowding our doctor offices and keeping Americans from getting healthcare, or something. Come on, the South Park movie was a documentary.

It's strange to me that people who worship the man who told the wrong guy to tear down the Berlin Wall are planning to move it brick by brick and stone by stone to the United States.

This is a lesson we should not forget. Washingtonians think Canadians coming into the state, "buying up all their consumer goods." You hear the stories of greedy Canadians descending on small border towns and buying all the milk available within fifty miles of the border. And the damn Canadians refuse to take free right turns which makes Washingtonians crazy. Plus no one will take their coins.

Yup. We need a wall too. Screw that Blaine Peace Arch.

BTY, the No Trespassing sign is for the Burlington Northern rail road tracks, not as a warning against crossing the border.
