The Paula Deen newstory...

...I seen it mentioned in a bunch of threads here but haven't actually read into it too deeply. (even though I threw in a comment on one of the threads) But just watched CBS news story about it. This was all something to do with something she said in the 1960s? Why is it being brought up now. I'm hardly shocked that a white girl from the 60s would have used the N word back then.

...says something about a court proceeding asking her if she ever used the N word and she said yes many years ago. On CBS they said she said admitted to having said it to her husband in the 60s after a black man robbed her. Now I'm sure she's used it since then but that wasn't the fact in evidence.

she was fired for admitting to using the word once in the past. Seems extreme.

5. it wasn't about something she said in the 60s

The lawsuit is about an alleged pattern of behavior in a business that she owns. The time she remembered probably saying the n-word was 1986, not the 1960s. (There is no indication that was the last or only time--only that it was a time she remembered probably saying it.)

6. I don't know how anyone can defend Deen or Zimmerman.

In the warped media of 2013, the two issues combine

and the tea party and republican party led by BushPaulfamilyinc have exploited racism their whole lives.

It's about the 2nd amendment, and guns and bullets and hatred and all the smears of the president

It's all about the coming landslide victory of the democratic party, and those trying to temporarily stop what they know
is a given.

It's to incite the nation into violence, which is just the single worst thing that could happen now, but something the
BushPaulfamilyinc would like nothing better

...(or what Zimmerman has to do anything) but I'm pretty sure she has hurt more people with her high fat recipes than her words.

9. Didn't say you were defending anyone. You asked about what was going on

and I gave my opinion that it is no surprise this is happening at this time.

the food channel should have fired her for her deception last year back, but that is another issue.

This is a 100% thing to fire her for.

But it is all tied into what is going on again, since the President took office.

is very recent. I saw a clip on Radaronline that will put a nail in her coffin. God love she just needs to shut up and stop talking. The more she talks the more she looks bad. She needs to find a good pr man to help get her out of this mess.

I'm about to head off to make Deen threads magically disappear, just like I did Snowden threads after the first few days. It's a relief.
