Poll: Is America better off or worse off as a result of Snowden's actions?

To me, this is the fundamental question about Snowden. It isn't about his education. It isn't about his girlfriend. It isn't about whether he seeks asylum. It is about America. Did his actions help America or hurt America? Simple question.

I refuse to answer because respect for all laws is more important than the future of the nation. (No explanation needed)

If the country resists and can reverse our course then its an amazing success. I hope we do the right thing.

Thus far, I really do not predict the people will reject this in any manner that changes the apparatus significantly.

Interestingly, this may be an example of how a administration on the "left" can "get away" with more than those on the right, by winning the middle and moving their own followers on an issue traditionally supported by the right (like health insurance mandates or foreign interventions).

I think some people are better off if they protect themselves against abuse, in the scenario that mass abuse comes and is used against the people.

On the otherhand, a whole lot more people don't care about this stuff. It will become the new normal.

This gave the government a chance to air its dirty laundry and maybe a chance to sweep it under the rug with a PR campaign waged by those declared on the left.

Its probably too soon to tell. In any case, I think if this came out during a Republican presidency, it would of helped more, because far more people would of reacted to it and something may of been changed.

No matter how wrong those secrets are, it is both wrong and criminal to divulge that information to governments who have armies of people working feverishly to break into our systems. Thinking this is a good thing is like saying you approve of espionage by other countries on the USA.
