Quote from a pro-lifer on Trent Franks Faceboook page

If you are raped be it incest or stranger, go to the doctor and get a DNC right away, do not wait until the pregnancy is a moving living being. We are not trying to take rights away from women as some have stated here, we are simply trying to give rights to another human being that is not being given a fair chance. Women have the chance to get it done immediately when they are raped, dont wait till you are causing pain to another.

Is that the truth within HR 1797? So any women raped or forced incest with a family member should let the unborn life in her womb for 9 months?

Hospitals are now giving Plan B, which these assholes are also fighting against. I suppose they're not happy unless a rape victim is getting surgical instruments shoved up her, feeding their fantasies of rape by proxy after the fact.

And, bozo, it's D&C, basically the same procedure that is used in early surgical abortion.

Is that rape victims should deal with the issue sooner rather than later. Franks has lamely tried to explain that what he MEANT to say was that rape victims do not get abortions after 20 weeks, they get them much sooner. Which really bear no semblance to his quote, "The incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low."

Denial is a very powerful emotion - probably even more so in the case of rape than in other unwanted pregnancies.

Its very easy for someone who hasn't had to deal with it to just say "Why didn't you go and get Plan B the next day?" But I'm not going to criticize a woman who either shut the possibility out of her mind or couldn't emotionally bring herself to deal with it within a 20-week timeframe. It's pretty fucking cold for someone to say - go take the morning after pill and quit being so selfish, which is essentially what that post is saying.
