"The Terrorists™" are not stupid.

They do what they do the way they do it. That includes communication. And gathering intelligence. And other clandestine terrorist shit. They do what they do in the way that they do it.

And they've enjoyed a significant level of success doing what they do they way they do it.

I'll bet a week's worth of my morning Cheerios (at least) they knew all about the NSA eavesdropping before we did. I'll up that bet to include some Oatmeal Squares that they have in place alternate means of communicating.

All of that rendering the NSA spying a gazillion dollar flop . . . . . assuming that snooping on The Terrorists™ is their actual goal.

If it were to transpire that I win my bet, then it follows that the best course of fiscally prudent action woud be to cancel the program, sell the hardware, and furlough the listeners.

. . . . . if, indeed, snooping on The Terrorists™ is their actual goal.

Also, consider this: If a 29 year old high school drop out can get a super-dooper-ultra-kool-kid security clearance and use that access to punk his own Uncle Sam, what are the chances some other similarly capable and placed actor might actually be doing some moonlight data mining for people unknown* who might be willing to have such an actor do such a thing on their behalf in exchange a healthy allotment of actual money?

*could as easily (maybe MORE easily) be corporate interests as political interests.

But back to my fundamental point: The Terrorists™ are not stupid and if anyone who appears to be a member of The Terrorists™ is claimed to have been ensnared, I would not assume them to be *actual* members of The Terrorists™.

From a real court, not some secret court that always says yes.
