Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Fla.) is the first Republican member of Congress to sport some face paint and masked tape and pose for the NOH8 campaign.
The congresswoman is the only member of her party to join more than 95 of her congressional colleagues in the photo campaign aimed at raising awareness and support of gay marriage rights. Ros-Lehtinen said in a statement accompanying the latest NOH8 on the Hill set of photos, released Monday, Our nation is based on the principle of equality. That is what this is all about.
While Ros-Lehtinen is seen cracking a slight smile while holding up a piece of tape in her pic, other lawmakers seem to have let their creative juices flow during the photo shoots.
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) poses with his thumb down and teeth showing in his snapshot, Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) the first openly bisexual person elected to Congress strikes a dramatic stance as she clutches the silver masking tape, and Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) dons one of her signature hats for her modeling session.
