I'd feel bad for him but he started this misadventure out as a libertarian know-it-all, so why bother?

Unfortunately, by going public the way he has, he has both raised the penalty that the US is willing to inflict on a host country and deprecated the value of any information he has to give a host country.

even further damaging to the surveillance state. In the event something happens to him, those files will be opened.

"All I can say right now is the US Government is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering me. Truth is coming, and it cannot be stopped."

“I did not reveal any US operations against legitimate military targets. I pointed out where the NSA has hacked civilian infrastructure such as universities, hospitals, and private businesses because it is dangerous. These nakedly, aggressively criminal acts are wrong no matter the target," he argued.

I thought this was going to be Jason Bourne cool but it fucking sucks.

He thought all the paranoid people that live here who actually believe they're living 'the 1984' and that cars are hacked and blown up would look up to him and cheer his name and idolize him as the coolest mother fucker to run away and hide.....

...oh wait that is happening.

wonder if he gets the internets where he is.

I bet he never thought almost half of them would go instantly into President Obama Protection Mode, or that the first protocol in the mode would be to trash Snowden by talking about his girlfriend or boxes in his garage or whether or not he talked to his neighbors or whether or not he had the requisite education to be thought of as schmaaaart like those who have degrees (but aren't necessarily edumacated).

I hope someone is giving him supplies.

At least he's got plenty of reading material on his laptop, so he can keep busy.
