the judicial branch took over for the legislative branch

As you know, Congress overwhelmingly voted to renew the Voting Rights Act after 10 weeks of hearings and listening to scores of expert witnesses. Talk about judicial activism!

Because if centrist or left-leaning judges do it, it would be judicial activists legislating from the bench.
