I was so Happy this morning, The history we made last night. Unbelievably Sweet. Three States fought the GOP and we won. Damn it we did. Fairly without deception. No smoke and mirrors. We won!Well lo and behold the GOP rears their ugly dishonorable heads again. They are doing it in Texas again and I want to cry.
Misplaced priorities of legislative leaders squandered a tremendous opportunity to make much needed improvements in our transportation infrastructure and help create good jobs and bring businesses to Texas. Despite urging by responsible members of the Senate to bring up the matter of transportation, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst derailed as much as much as $1 billion per year in transportation funding by stubbornly pushing divisive, failed legislation attacking women's health care options.
If leaders are serious about using this second called special session to improve the lives of Texans by repairing and expanding our transportation networks, they will find no greater ally than me. If they intend to keep pushing their extreme personal political agenda ahead of the interests of Texas families, I will not back off of my duty to fight on their behalf.

(66,283 posts)And our loss? The VRA? We'll fix that, too. Pretty soon, the only place one will see a Republican is in a museum.

(83,637 posts)However we can and will correct that, you are so right about that!
I feel a rumbling under my feet, same one that I felt in 2008 and 2012. I can't explain it really, couldn't then either. Simply said, I feel change coming, I truly do! You are the medical expert, am I coming down with something?
Thanks Aristus...this has been an amazing couple of days!
And as for the republican mausoleum, oops my bad I meant museum, it should be about as popular as the Bush Library!
We rock~

(4,309 posts)Having a little celebration here with my daughter and some of our friends from WFO. Put on Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move" really loud and we all got up and danced! I really, truly and fervently hope that this is just the beginning! I love you, Cha, babylonsister, freshwest, ladyfreedom and all the other BOGers who kept me informed and motivated during the 2012 campaign. The dark days of Bush are actually fading from my mind! May they NEVER return!
