Now that the scooter scam is over, incontinence products are all over the TeeVee

"Have your Medicare card ready"

Just give us a call,
we’ll take care of the details.
We contact your doctor
We process the insurance paperwork
We remind you when it’s time to reorder so you always have the supplies you need

I have to wonder how long before this service (by one of about 5 different companies I've seen advertise on local TeeVee) is investigated.

Those ads on late tv where an elderly or sick person could get a 'free' wheelchair like thing?

4. What I don't get is they are specifically targeting ease of ordering towards those on MEDICAID--not

Medicare... Given these products are linked with age, one would think that MEDICARE population and benefit would be the focus...

Perhaps Medicare has cracked down on these benefits? Strange.

7. If you listen to the ads, they specifically focus on MEDICAID in terms of immediate shipping

they never even mention Medicare nor insurance... That's why I am curious WHY medicaid when MEDICARE (and private insurers for older people would seemingly be the more likely focus)....

8. SO SO SO SICK of the incontinence product ads!

And the male stiffy pills/pumps/creams/lotions ads.

And the diabetic blood testing supply ads.

And the get free digital tv with this antenna ads.

And the pharma ads for itching, dry eyes, allergies, rashes, sleep aids, basically whatever ails you, there's something you can take for it. (Caution: use of these products might cause sudden and unexpected death--talk to your doctor.)

I'm also sick of ads from Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc., all telling us how wonderful and caring they are, and how it's OUR money, we should keep it...just do business with us and we'll show you how to keep it! Right.

The Walmart ads..."when people see me, I hope they see someone working their way up..." Well, yes I'm sure most Walmart employees work very hard--I've heard they're almost worked to death--but what I think of is each Walmart store costing American taxpayers $900,000/year to subsidize employees who don't earn a living wage!

I could go on and on.

9. That, and the catheter scam. And the free back brace scam. And...

And the prostrated by my prostate scam.

And the many other supplement, alternative medicine scams.

Interestingly, they advertise on kids' programming on my local Fox affiliate which runs a great astronomy series from Canada entitled "Heads Up", hosted by CBC regular from long time CBC radio science program, Quirks and Quarks, Bob McDonald.

All the adverts seem to be for old folks. No toy or breakfast cereal ads in sight.
