Edward Snowden is a hero to many Russians.

There was an article in yesterday's NYTimes in the World News Section that compared him to Ethel and Julius Rosenberg and other Russian heroes. I do not have the link but perhaps someone else read it? It was a very good article. I read it on the Kindle and it was too much of a hassle to try and post.

Then I read that VP Biden has been talking to Ecuador to persuade them from offering any protection to Edward Snowden. He has painted himself into a corner and there is no one to rescue him - except the Russians. Personally, I do not see any really damaging intelligence, other than diplomatic embarrassments, from his secrets telling. But that is a lot. The US government was caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

However, truth be known, every country does it. They now know that the US is far ahead of every other country in the world in cyber-spying. This is the James Bond future.

So, it will be no surprise if Snowden stays in Russia. The article pointed out that Russia may be the only country where he will be secure because the US has a way of finding people like Snowden and taking care of him, if you know what I mean? That was the point made in the article.

So you have looked through the multiple laptops and drives?

My fear is that Snowden doesn't know the gravity of some intel that he has. He is not a seasoned analyst, nor was he read into most of the programs that he may have taken intel from. It's like when a five year old takes daddy's gun to school and is unaware of the destruction that they posses. The kid thinks it looks neat, but he might have his hands full.
