I am confused about the earbuds. Rachel said Trayvon had them on and was talking with her using the the earbuds. Today I saw a photo of Trayvon, a head close up taken at the scene, shortly after pronounced dead, the Ambu bag used for attempted resuscitation is still visible. Also visible next to his head, are his earbuds. (I won't post the photo, it's disturbing)
I know kids, and how protective they are of their phones and accessories. If Trayvon intended to fight Zimmerman, he would have removed his earbuds from his ears, and put them in his pocket. The earbuds were later found by officers who put them in Trayvon's pocket, but the photo is evidence that they were originally found next to his head. I think the earbuds show Trayvon was the one taken by surprise. Not sure where the phone was found, perhaps ripped from the earbuds.

(9,186 posts)we are left with Zimmerman's fable. It is very possible Trayvon was ambushed and did not have the time to stop, remove his valuable earbuds and place them in a pocket for safekeeping.

(11,065 posts)His phone and headset were found on the grass near his body. Nobody starts a fight while holding onto their phone and talking to someone on it and while wearing their headset. Martin didn't ambush Zimmerman, and if he did throw the first punch he had deep reason to do so like Zimmerman displaying his gun or drawing it on him.

They didn't care too much about ANYTHING but their phones

(3 posts)That's a CPR mask, not an ambu-bag, and there are no earbuds visible near the body, nor were they logged into the police evidence list.
The only evidence markers in that picture are #6 (the body) and #5 (Zimmerman's black flashlight).
There are reports that the earbuds were found in TM's pocket, along with the button that GZ earlier reported seeing on his hoodie, which indicates that TM was preparing for a confrontation.

That you would dismiss the article simple because it has conservative sources is no different from others dismissing anything that comes from liberal sources. I'm concerned only about reliability.
The fact is that there was no scene evidence tag for the earbuds, so they were not found on the ground.
This was the police scene evidence tag list:
1 keys and little flashlight
2 plastic bag
3 plastic bag
4 first aid kit
5 flashlight
6 Martin's body
7 Martin's cell phone (only)
8 cartridge case
According to the evidence list created by Crime Scene Technician Diana Smith, $40.15, Red 711 Lighter, Photo Button, Bag of Skittles and headphones were from Trayvon's pockets (the Arizona Watermelon drink had already been removed during CPR).
