On Diane Rehm there is a jackass from the Cato Institute whose answer for all our problems is privatize everything.

I know I am a slow dumb southerner, but with privatization comes profits. If you privatize a department make a profit and save money just what are we cutting?

I think of education in for profit schools, profits come first the students come second. If we privatize government profits come first and the American citizens come second. Pure and simple.

4. This has been the meme since the early 90's.

I was hearing it constantly when I was a civil servant in PA...all about how it would solve all problems. We are starting to see the results now unfortunately. We can not afford to be passive in this contest. I feel we are under attack from within and the fascists are winning. They are winning because they are mucking up everything and trying to use it as their opportunity to step into power. If they succeed they will be a hammer and we will all suffer more than we are already.

5. How can you save money by privatizing something, when you make a profit?

Governments operate without the profit motive. To privatize whatever and make a profit, something has to be cut, to get that profit.
More things need to be Nationalized, like Health Care for instance. Or the Internet, Power generation and transmission.
