General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI read this great R.S. article on gerrymandering, only to see the comments overrun by RW trolls...
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-republicans-rig-the-game-20131111The fuckers infested the comment section like roaches, doing shit like disputing the fact that they're all ignorant, racist, hateful, misogynistic and homophobic, by being completely ignorant, racist, hateful, misogynistic and homophobic.
These are people lack the ability to understand the very words they write.

(14,971 posts)A couple months ago , Ari Melber tweeted a link to an article on voter ID that had just been posted on The Nation and within 5 minutes the comments section was overrun with right wing nut jobs extolling the virtues of voter ID. It was unbelievable .

(73,626 posts)This is a complete deluge of trolldom in this R.S. article and it's so obvious to figure out that it didn't happen by accident.
There's probably some astroturfer site that sends out alerts to fuck up comments. I use Disqus, which is the site that that being used for this comment section. I checked out a couple of these trolls' history and up votes and it's a smorgasbord of idiocy. They all up votes each other's comments too, so that they all have ridiculously high numbers.
These fuckers are organized.

(73,626 posts)It's your typical winger cry for attention and complaint about victimhood. I'm not even going to bother to bite.
I didn't comment there on purpose, no time to deal amateurs
If I wanted to be insulted by professionals I would have mosied on over to the Daily Cesspool or even Yahoo.
That's where the REAL knuckle draggers like to play.

(1,935 posts)Generally speaking, moderators, and/or automatic systems don't allow cuss words. Some, like at this site, don't allow comments about excess bodyweight. I would like to see moderators and automatic systems that screen out paid right-wing comments, lies, and illogical arguments. Automatic systems could be programmed to look for terms that are only used by Rush, Glenn Beck and Fox News.
