ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
Trivializing the discussions we've been having about men leering at women inappropriately. Feminist concerns are not "nonsensical."

You know that I raised chickens in my youth. I'm not going to get into a debate with you here, on DU, about which color of banty eggs were my favorite. That's personal, and I can't believe that you would seek to exploit my painful indecision -- I liked the light blueish-green, and the light greenish-blue, just about the same. That's my business, mister. It's a cross I bear.

(10,559 posts)Sauteed an onion, added a chopped carrot, tossed in three cans of beans (garbanzo, red kidney and black), added two cans of diced tomatoes with basil, oregano and garlic, added four chicken breasts cut into small pieces, a large can of chicken broth, and seasoned to taste with basil, oregano, salt, pepper and a bay leaf.
Yes, I could have made it cheaper with dried beans, but I got the canned ones on sale, so the entire meal cost somewhere between $10 and $12.
It was filling and nutritious. My family of four loved it, and I ate some leftover for lunch. Hot soup on a bitter cold day. Does it get better?
I love chicken. And beans. YUMMY!
