I actually graduated from temp agency work to a real job at a real company.

It ain't much, but at least I'm slightly farther away from unemployment (the status, not the money) than a simple phone call.

So that's somewhat of a .

in 2013. He was without a job for 3-1/2 years, me for 2-1/2. Of course, they're a fraction, literally, of what we used to make but after being jobless for so long, it's an amazing feeling to finally feel useful and productive again. I'm actually sleeping at night and my stomach isn't in constant churn wondering where the HELL I'm going to find enough money for the house payment (and everything else).

Congrats, Wounded Bear -- we know how you feel.

that the economy has been grinding ever so slowly forward to better things.

I, too, used to make good scratch. Many years ago.

I lost both cats and my job this year.
