Happy New Year!!! Let us all commit that 2014 is the year we fight back! That means if all you do right now is comment on blogs, then you need to show up & phone bank this year. If all you do is blog, then you need to canvass this year. If all you do is canvass or phone bank, then you need to precinct captain this year. If all you do is precinct captain, then you need set a fundraising target this year. If all you do is fundraise, then you need to double it this year. Or show up at a phonebank.

You get the picture. No one is excused, and no one gets to rest on their laurels. I don’t care what you did last year, or the year before, or 10, 20, 30 years ago. This year – you do more.

Because the plutocrats, their mercenaries, and their rube army don’t quit. And our side is playing for bigger stakes.

1. Excellent! If all those who write and only criticize Democrats were to

turn their talents to trying to get Democrats elected, we'd have something. For me, I'll be out, as always, trying to convince one voter at a time to go to the polls and vote for the Democrats in their legislative districts and local elections. That starts now, continues through the caucus, convention, and primary season and includes the General Election.

I hope that many who have stopped actual GOTV activism will return to that crucial task in 2014. If they do, we can retake the House and improve our Senate majority, along with electing state legislators all across the nation.

4. I thought I was doing just that the last two elections....

Now they have to show me something to earn my money and efforts again, and so far that hasn't happened. The NSA, Afghanistan, Drone murders, MandateCare, Deepwater Horizon, TPP and the lies about NAFTA, Chained CPI, I feel as dirty as if I had campaigned for someone names Bush. Might as well have. But since my party has made me feel like a dumbass Republican, I am going to take a page from the GOP grassroots playbook, and I am going to INSIST that they earn my vote.

I know, it's a radical concept, but there you go.
