2. They've been whining over that

and a simple elimination of the Bush ll tax cuts, which if I'm correct, takes us back to the Clinton-era top tax rates. They conveniently neglect to acknowledge this, but the top tax rates of FDR and Eisenhower (a Republican president) make today's look like a farce. Ike's rate was around 90%! If he were to propose that rate today, he'd get laughed out of the GOP.
It would be funny seeing how far the GOP has ran away from that idea (and others that they used to support) if it were just an Onion piece, and not for real and ruining people's lives.
